CMU friend visits from Florida

Christine is one of my best friends - I met her at Central Michigan University. She has three beautiful daughters, Alayna, Emma, and Gracianne. Every summer they travel up to Michigan and other states visiting family and friends. We feel pretty special that they make time to visit us. We went to the Detroit Zoo on Wednesday. It was a very hot day, but I think we all had fun anyway! The girls had never been to the Detroit Zoo, so that was fun to show them around. The animals weren't very active, most of them were laying in any shade they could find. We did see quite a few animals though...penguins, butterflies, reptiles, flamingos, bald eagles, zebras, rhinos, a hippo, bears, a peacock (it even opened it's feathers...very pretty!), kangaroos, a polar bear, and seals. We were going to stay for the evening concert, but we ran out of time and the weather got bad pretty quick. We drove home in a thunderstorm!!! Then, the girls spent the night and this morning we spent a little more time together. Brooke really loved the girls. Alayna was playing"peek a boo" at the zoo and Brooke was cracking up! THANK YOU CHRIS AND GIRLS, we enjoyed visiting with you. Come again next summer. Hopefully we will travel out to Florida for a vacation to see you, before then!!
